{"id":4288,"date":"2013-08-11T15:07:11","date_gmt":"2013-08-11T19:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/memmott.us\/blog\/?p=4288"},"modified":"2013-08-11T15:07:11","modified_gmt":"2013-08-11T19:07:11","slug":"a-day-on-the-river","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/memmott.us\/blog\/2013\/08\/11\/a-day-on-the-river\/","title":{"rendered":"A Day on the River"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/memmott.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/wpid-DSC_0170.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"DSC_0170.JPG\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/memmott.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/wpid-DSC_0170.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>First full day on the river in Santa Rosa, Beni, Bolivia.\u00a0 We went upriver this morning, seeing lots of common caimanes, black caimanes, turtles, squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, many different species of birds and pink dolphins. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/memmott.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/wpid-DSC_0168.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"DSC_0168.JPG\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/memmott.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/wpid-DSC_0168.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our destination was a large, deep pool in the river where the pink dolphins rest and care for their young &#8211; a good place to observe, or even swim with them.<br \/>\nWe did do some swimming, and though the dolphins showed no interest in frolicking with us, I did get my best look at one of them. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/memmott.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/wpid-DSC_0172.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"DSC_0172.JPG\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/memmott.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/wpid-DSC_0172.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We also got up close and personal with a tree full of very cute squirrel monkeys who had no problem coming down to visit us on our boat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First full day on the river in Santa Rosa, Beni, Bolivia.\u00a0 We went upriver this morning, seeing lots of common caimanes, black caimanes, turtles, squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, many different species of birds and pink dolphins.
