Hard Rider

We went to a shopping center that has some places to play. William decided to ride the mechanical bull. He stayed on for quite a while, but in the end . . .

Ala Archa in the Snow

We drove up to Ala Archa to take a walk in the snow.  It was beautiful, as it always is.

At Panfilov Park

Alexandra, Christina and William came to visit us for Christmas and New Years. We had a great time exploring Bishkek and some of the mountainous areas around the city. Although we were disappointed with the light snowfall (and they missed the Blizzard of 09 back at home), the mild weather did allow us to have […]

Orlando and Epcot

We left Washington at the end of July and took the kids to Orlando — six Disney parks in six days. It was a lot of fun, even if it was pretty tiring. With so much to do and see, we didn’t get a lot of photos.

Washington, 2009

We were in Washington for most of June and July this year for training and consultations before coming out to Bishkek (where I am now, waiting for Aliciya and Tatyana to join me). We spent all our weekends together with William, Christina and Alexandra and had a great time. Here are a few pics from […]

Pumpkin Festival

Our last weekend in Washington Tanya was feeling well enough to get out more. The doctor had told us on Friday that we could go back to Manila. We decided to take advantage of the incredible fall weather and go out to the Pumpkin Festival at Butlers Orchard in Germantown, MD. It turned out to […]

Washington – After the Surgery

After the surgery I spent my time running back and forth to the hospital and trying to keep Aliciya entertained. I quickly found that the best way of keeping her happy was to take her to the big Borders Bookstore one metro stop away. There were stuffed animals to play with, and when she got […]

Washington for Surgery – September

Since I didn’t get any blogging done in Washington, here I am playing catch-up again. Anyway, we left Hawaii on September 15 for Washington to have Tatyana’s brain tumor removed. It was a pretty stressful time, but as you will see, we had some fun, too. Tatyana didn’t have her appointment with the brain surgeon […]

Diving the Wrecks

July 17, 2008 Christina, Alexandra and I spent the day diving on Japanese World War II wrecks.  It was tremendous.  Unfortunately, someone failed to get us underwater cameras, so we have no photos. As the U.S. Navy prepared for the liberation of the Philippines from the Japanese, one mapping officer noticed that some of the […]

Malcapuya Island II

July 16, 2008 This is one of my favorite photos from that day. One thing Dive Link really did up big time was the lunches. They were full hot meals, even on the beach. A bit too much for me, really.
