Albay Province

We flew down to Albay Province to swim with the whale sharks. My friend, Joey Salceda is the Governor of Albay, and he was kind enough to meet us and have breakfast with us. We took the very first flight down there, and as we headed out to the airport at the crack of dawn […]

Aliciya’s Birthday

Aliciya knew exactly what she wanted to do for her birthday this year — she wanted a costume and swimming party. So we had it at the Embassy’s Seafront compound, and she invited her friends to wear their costumes and bring their swimsuits along. She had a great time, and I think they all did, […]

On Corregidor Island

We went to Corregidor to show them the ruins of the fortress island. I’d say she looks pretty dangerous here.

Grandma and Grandpa in Manila

We were so excited to have Grandma and Grandpa Memmott come to visit. We had a wonderful time. We spent the first week in Manila, and then traveled for the next ten days. I’ll put up several posts to cover their visit. At the end of the tour, we took the “fish pedicure” with little […]

Bangkok

I had to go to Bangkok for a day of meetings and since we had never been there, Tanya and I decided to spend the weekend there before my Monday of meetings. These are all photos from Sunday. We found a parade forming on the street just outside our hotel and then went to visit […]

Pagsanjan Falls

Pagsanjan Falls is a fun day trip from Manila. It’s not exactly whitewater coming back down the river, but the scenery is beautiful, and it is exciting to go under the falls on the raft. Certainly worth doing.

Hundred Islands (Never Get Tired of 100 Islands!)

Since we were up that way, anyway, we just had to show Robert and Salee one of our favorite places in the Philippines, the Hundred Islands National Park.

At the Ambassador’s Residence

The nicest place in Baguio — really the reason we go — is the Ambassador’s Residence. It is soooo relaxing. The next day we hiked around the grounds, and I took the opportunity to shoot a few portrait shots.

Strawberry Fields (Baguio Again)

After the Bell Church, we went to the strawberry fields. We had never gone there before, and I was skeptical about the idea, but it was great. It is not far from the Bell Church, just about 20 minutes from town center, and Aliciya loved picking the strawberries. And they are sure good strawberries. There’s […]

At the Bell Church in Baguio

We went to the mountains to show Robert and Salee the Ambassador’s residence and the “Summer Capital” of the Philippines. As usual, the weather in Baguio was cool and lovely. We took them to see the Chinese church, Bell Church, which we saw on our last trip to Baguio.
