At the Bell Church in Baguio
We went to the mountains to show Robert and Salee the Ambassador’s residence and the “Summer Capital” of the Philippines. As usual, the weather in Baguio was cool and lovely. We took them to see the Chinese church, Bell Church, which we saw on our last trip to Baguio.

Aliciya’s Posters
Today Florsheim gave us copies of some of Aliciya’s posters that they are using to decorate their stores. They gave us five different posters, and three of them in digital form. Though you have seen some of these photos in much lower quality in my photos of the stores, I figured you might be interested […]

Baguio 2: Aliciya and Masha
Masha is 18 months old. Aliciya has known Masha since she was born, and really loves her. She feels much like a older sister toward her. Aliciya decided, at the end of the weekend, that Masha should come to live with us. It took a lot of explaining to convince her that it would be […]

Weekend in Baguio
We went to Baguio for the weekend of February 7. As always, it was lovely. We took our friends, Anya and Sasha, and their cute little daughter Masha, and stayed at the cottage on the incredible grounds of the Ambassador’s residence there. The residence dates from before World War II. In fact, all of Baguio […]

Christmas Morning
We had a very nice Christmas. Our Christmas Eve celebration was short, given Aliciya’s attention span. We read a few stories, sang a few Christmas carols (Aliciya proposed, “Mary Had a Little Lamb”), read the Christmas story from the bible, and hung our stockings, that was about it. Christmas day we unwrapped presents. Most of […]

New Aliciya Poster
Florsheim Kids opened a new store in the Mall of Asia, the forth largest mall in the world (and second largest in the Philippines). We went to see it tonight, and I shot a few photos of Aliciya in front of her new poster, which is the centerpiece of the store. That makes three stores […]

Meeting Santa for Breakfast
We took Aliciya to “Breakfast with Santa,” organized by the Embassy Employees Association. She had a great time. Here are a few pics. At a birthday party that same afternoon for one of her friends, Aliciya got to try out being put into a soap bubble – she did it with her friend James.

Aliciya in Print
Nothing so new about this, but Aliciya’s Florsheim ad was in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, page E3, this morning, so I figured I’d put it up for everyone to admire.

Aliciya is a Model!!!
We had been waiting since July for Florsheim to start using the photos of Aliciya they took. It happened while we were gone. When we got back, Myrna, our maid, told us that she had seen Aliciya’s picture on a billboard on EDSA, the most important street in Manila. Of course, we had to go […]

Pumpkin Festival
Our last weekend in Washington Tanya was feeling well enough to get out more. The doctor had told us on Friday that we could go back to Manila. We decided to take advantage of the incredible fall weather and go out to the Pumpkin Festival at Butlers Orchard in Germantown, MD. It turned out to […]
